Student Expectations

  1. The student needs to have his or her own instrument.

  2. The student needs to be respectful of the teacher.

  3. The student needs to practice and have his or her homework ready for the lesson.

Payment System

We always start off our students with a Free Trial lesson. After this if you choose to continue with us, we will set you up with an online log-in to our system. Here you can securely input your credit/debit card info. This allows us to charge your card for each month's payment on the 27th of the previous month.

Do I have to pay for 3-12 months of lessons at once?

No! Definitely not.

The 3 month, 6 month, and 12 month plans are simply commitments saying you'll be sticking with Teach 2 Teach for that length of time, but the billing is done month by month at the listed rate.

Scheduling

Your free trial lesson will be set up for you by an admin, and then scheduling will continue between you and your teacher.

Lesson Cancellation & Rescheduling

Please contact your teacher at least 48 hours in advance when you need to reschedule. When you talk to your teacher, set a date for the rescheduled lesson. In the event that you have to cancel within 48 hours of the lesson, you will not be able to make up that lesson with your teacher unless there is a valid reason (see below).

Emergencies, sickness, and bad weather/driving conditions are all valid excuses for late cancellations, and the lesson may be rescheduled with your teacher. Please inform your teacher of the reason so they can note it properly in our system.

The same goes for our teachers. If a teacher has to cancel and does not give the student 48 hours notice, they will give you your next lesson free (except for illness, emergency, or weather).

For virtual lessons, please make every attempt to contact your tutor for last minute schedule or connection issues. Tutors will stay online for 15 minutes. If the tutor does not hear from you, you will be charged a regular lesson and will not be able to make up the time.

If you miss a lesson with enough notice to your tutor (or plan to miss a lesson in the future), lesson time can be made up in several ways. You can:

  1. Hold a full additional lesson on a different day than usual.

  2. Hold a double-length lesson

  3. Add partial lesson time to several lessons. (example: add 10 or 15 minutes to 2 or 3 future lessons for a missed 30 min. lesson)

Lessons can be made up before a planned break or after a missed lesson week - either way is fine.

Just a note - you can't make up lessons once you've stopped subscribing to a payment plan.

How do you treat holidays?

Holidays are never a problem. Let your teacher know if you'd still like to try to hold a lesson, or if you'd like to reschedule. If rescheduling, decide on a time and date that work for you both. Also feel free to just extend your next lesson to be twice as long, or add partial lesson time to future lessons.

Since all lessons are scheduled directly between you and your teacher, always mention it and be clear with your teacher. Never assume a lesson is cancelled due to a holiday you observe.

Subscription Questions

How many lessons are included monthly?

The listed rates on our pricing page are for weekly lessons. Depending on which plan you choose, you are purchasing 13, 26, or 52 lessons over 3, 6, or 12 months. Your payments for these lessons are charged monthly.

The monthly price stays consistent each month regardless of how many lessons the student holds. Every 3rd month has a 5th week, which is factored into the price already.

What happens at the end of my subscription?

Your subscription will auto-renew at your current plan length. If you are on a 3-month plan, your plan will be renewed for another 3 months.

If you want to update or cancel your plan, let us know so we can update your account before the auto-renewal takes place. You can only downgrade your plan after the completion of your current plan.

Any skipped lessons that have not been made up will expire at the end of your subscription. Clients are responsible to reschedule any missed lessons with the teacher before the end of the subscription.

Can I transfer my subscription plan to someone else?

Yes, if you'd like to transfer your subscription to another person you may do so, but lessons must be taken within the same time frame as the original commitment specified, or longer.

What if I can't finish out the subscription I chose?

If you want to stop your 3, 6, or 12 month subscription with Teach 2 Teach before the agreed upon time, we have 2 options for you:

  1. Fix the problem. This first option is by far the most preferred. What is making you want to stop taking lessons? Is scheduling difficult? Would you like to change the locations of the lessons? Switch to webcam lessons? Change teachers? Whatever your problem is, we're here to help solve it.

  2. If you want to stop your 3, 6, or 12 month subscription with T2T before the agreed upon time, you may pay 1/3 of the remaining payments (or 1/3 of the payments required for the time you choose to not take lessons) to end (or pause) the contract. This will effectively fulfill your contract with T2T.

Switching Teachers

If you ever want to change to another teacher, we will try our best to make that happen for you.

Also, if the occasion ever arises that your teacher is no longer able to teach you, we will try our best to replace him or her with another qualified teacher. If at that point you are still within your agreed upon subscription time with us, your subscription will continue with the new teacher. Your subscription will not end early due to your previous teacher’s inability to continue teaching you unless we are unable to find an acceptable replacement.
